Jerry Jones declares Dak Prescott as the ‘best pied piper’ ever for Cowboys and coaches

Jones even has claimed that he has not seen a better leader than Dak Prescott.

Lately, Jerry Jones has been very vocal in his support for quarterback Dak Prescott. From naming Prescott as one of the great leaders in the Dallas Cowboys locker room to advocating for the 30-year-old’s case for the 2023 NFL MVP, Jones has been busy.

There’s merit behind his renewed enthusiasm after such a long time. His team is blowing past the opposition with ease and sits comfortably in the NFC with a 9-3 record. They were up against them on Thursday night when the Seattle Seahawks came to play at AT&T Stadium. It was their first rodeo against a.500 side this season.

The Seahawks pushed the Cowboys to the brink, and it lit a fire under Dak Prescott, who led the charge for a late comeback 41-35 victory for the Cowboys. It was a necessary victory, which proved not only that they can beat teams with winning records but also that they have the mental strength to kick it up a notch if required. And the orchestrator of the charge was none other than Prescott himself.

He threw the crucial 12-yard game-winning touchdown to rookie tight end Jake Ferguson. The game ended with Prescott completing 29 passes from 41 tries for 299 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jones during his routine appearance on 105.3 The Fan Radio show after the Seattle game branded his QB #1 as the “pied piper” of the Dallas Cowboys.

We’ve never had a better leader. Dak Prescott is the best pied piper for everybody. I’m not just talking about the team; I’m talking about the coaches. He is the pied piper of the team.

Is Dak Prescott really a ‘pied piper’ as Jerry Jones mentioned?

‘Pied Piper’ means the conductor, or, in simple terms, the one who can influence others. However, when the owner is saying the words, for a third person who has no relation to the team, it will appear as a false impression or an over-exaggeration. That’s when the teammates come into the frame because they are the ones spending the most time with each other.

If it’s Micah Parsons, most people generally shut up and listen to what he has to say. Here is what the All-Pro linebacker had to say about Prescott after he pumped up the Cowboys’ defense, which was getting hammered by the Seahawks receivers.

I’m like, ‘Damn, that sh*t made me blush a little bit!’ That’s always exciting—that energy he brings, that fire. That’s my quarterback right there. This is the type of quarterback that’s going to win us the Super Bowl.

What about someone who is not part of the Cowboys but still believes that Prescott is a serious contender for MVP this season? That someone is none other than four-time NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers, who said,

I mean, the last four or five weeks, I’ve gotten to see more of their games, and I just want to say he [Dak Prescott] is playing the position in a really impressive way.

The soon-to-be father is throwing the kitchen sink on the opposing teams every matchday (excluding the Cardinals and 49ers). Even the loss against NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles was by only a 5-point margin. Not only that, he was better through the year compared to Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, recording 374 yards and 3 TDs compared to Hurts’ 207 yards for 2 TDs.

Then again, Prescott and the Cowboys really might be put to the test in the upcoming games, which start by welcoming the Eagles to Arlington. After that, they will face the likes of the Buffalo Bills, the Miami Dolphins, and the Detroit Lions.

Notably, besides the Bills, the Dolphins and Lions both have winning records. And if he manages to convince Jones by winning all of those games then maybe bag a hefty paycheck afterward.
