Keyshawn Johnson claims Lamar Jackson deserves to become this season’s MVP despite Dak Prescott’s numbers

Keyshawn Johnson believes that Lamar Jackson deserves to win the MVP award.

Analyst Keyshawn Johnson believes that Lamar Jackson, the regular quarterback who plays for the Baltimore Ravens, deserves to be in the MVP discussion. He felt that ahead of Dak Prescott, Jackson deserved to be in the discussion.

Here is what Johnson had to say on ‘Undisputed’:

I have seen Baltimore with and without Lamar Jackson. With Lamar, they are ridiculous. They have gallons of weapons. Say Flowers in company, OBJ in company even Mark Andrews. He is cooking with his strong running game. So for me, it’s Lamar Jackson. Despite not having 5,000 yards. It is MVP. It is serving your team.

Johnson provided multiple reasons for not choosing Dak Prescott or Brock Purdy. He gave nearly the same reason in the case of both. The defense always takes the upper hand in the game for the 49ers. He also hinted that the 49ers have one of the finest defenses in the league.

Prescott, for the first time in his long career, is in the MVP talks. He has provided one of the best performances in his career. Johnson had some words of acknowledgement. However, he denied that Prescott deserved to be in the MVP discussion. Despite ‘cooking’ in the league, Johnson believes he has not been up to the mark. He has not provided against the likes of the Bills and the Eagles. That is one disadvantage that keeps him out of the MVP discussion.

Keyshawn Johnson discusses ‘The Tyreek Hill’ problems

Since the beginning of the season, a lot of analysts advocated for Tyreek Hill for the MVP award. Hill has been running a riot. He is on the verge of keeping his promise of surpassing 2000 yards. Johnson acknowledged that. Despite giving him flowers, he kept Hill out of the MVP question.

Here is what he had to say:

Tyreek could be the leading MVP. He is doing extraordinary stuff. He can’t be stopped at time. But the problem with Tyreek’s situation is the ball is not in his hands. The record-breaking pace that we were talking about, the 2,200 yards can suddenly disappear because Tua decides not to have a good game.

The regular season has almost come to an end. With three to four matches in the pipeline, all the MVP candidates will strive in desperation to win the award.
