LeSean McCoy backs Josh Allen’s Bills to pursue their Super Bowl dream despite internal turmoil with Stefon Diggs’ drama

McCoy wants his former team to win the championship in 2023.

The Buffalo Bills have been one of the best teams in the NFL, consistently putting up great numbers. One of the driving forces behind their recent success is the Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs partnership at the helm. However, their relationship has soured in the past couple of months. However, LeSean McCoy believes they can bounce back from the setback like true professionals.

“Josh Allen, Sean McDermott, and Stefon Diggs are still there,” McCoy said in a recent segment of FOX Sports 1’s Speak while answering co-host Joy Taylor’s question about whether the Bills’ window to win the Super Bowl is closing or not.

Last season, the Buffalo Bills won the AFC East comfortably. The big reason was the Allen-Diggs duo and their ever-dependable coach, Sean McDermott. They won 12 out of 15 games in the regular season and lost only three. In the first round of the playoffs, they defeated the Miami Dolphins but lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the next.

But what caught the eye of the NFL fandom was Stefon Diggs’s public outburst against Allen after the Bengals match. Things haven’t been the same since then, as Diggs even refused to show up for practice until recently. McCoy points out that if McDermott can somehow manage to calm the situation, the Bills season will go smoothly.

“There’s not a better duo from a quarterback and receiver than these two in the league,” McCoy said. “I love that they got past their issue. Once you have a well-coached team, anything is possible. They have been there and know what it takes to keep going.” Being a former Bills player himself, McCoy believes his team is capable of beating anyone, including the champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Stefon Diggs and the Bills are finally in a good spot

It’s almost the end of July, and the Buffalo Bills have finally begun their pre-season training session. One thing that every Bills mafia member would want to keep tabs on is how Stefon Diggs is faring on the team. After the Bengals games this January, many speculated that the 29-year-old would look for a new home. But he is back on the ground, sweating with his fellow teammates.

When asked about Diggs, coach Sean McDermott told the media, “We’re in a good spot. Stef is ready to practice. We have a lot of work to do.”

The three-time Pro Bowler was asked the same question. He replied, “We talked it out as men. Water is under the bridge, and now we’re back to work.” Moreover, he wants to win the Super Bowl and retire as a Bills player. (H/T: PFT)
