LeSean McCoy claims he trusts Josh Allen more than Joe Burrow ahead of the ‘mega’ Bengals-Bills clash

Shady thinks if Josh Allen had Joe Burrow’s weapons, he would have been even than how he is now.

After defeating the Cincinnati Bengals at 21-17 last season, Buffalo Bills is getting ready to face them again, this season, scheduled for the coming Monday. And when it comes to a game of such high magnitude, a comparison between the quarterbacks is inevitable. Many NFL analyst has taken a dig on the matter, not none is as wild as what LeSean McCoy said.

During a recent episode of Speak, the former NFL running back said:

I’m gonna go with Josh Allen, and I do love Joe Burrow..Joe Burrow is a phenomenal player like how great a player he is, but I want to take the best player, I think Josh Allen is the better quarterback.

He continued:

I have played with Josh Allen before he had Stefon Diggs, he was a good quarterback, but he didn’t have a lot of weapons. I’ve never seen Joe Burrow without the weapons over there.

McCoy believes that if Josh Allen was with the Bengals with their strong offense, it would have been a deadly combination as Allen “could throw any good run.” The 6 times Pro Bowler also went down Allen’s journey from Wyoming to the Bills, and how much he improved with the latter.

Though Shady admitted that Burrow did beat Allen and the Bills last season in the playoffs. But he overshadowed it by comparing Bill’s quarterback performance against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in recent years.

Moving forward, he also highlighted how while facing the Bengals, Allen would be tougher as he always proves himself in big games, and also because of Joe Burrow‘s calf injury this season, and appendix last year, and many more.

Why is LeSean McCoy biased towards Josh Allen?

Fox Sports Analyst McCoy supporting Allen isn’t new to the Bengals, as he always seemed a little biased towards his former teammate from his time at Buffalo. He previously referred to Allen as among the top three quarterbacks in the league, even after his poor game against the Jets in the 2023 season-opening. When everyone round was criticizing the quarterback, Shady stepped forward defending him saying, “He wins games.”

With that being said, this isn’t the first time that McCoy has taken a dig at Bengals’ QB Burrow. At one point, he even tried to compare Burrow with Steelers passer Kenny Pickett saying he sees no difference between them

It can’t be stated who will dominate the field on the coming Monday, as both Burrow and Allen are competent enough to bring their teams to the playoff race.
