“Let Dak go cook!” Nick Wright puts his firm trust in Dak Prescott to win the all-important Eagles clash for the Cowboys

Nick Wright firmly believes that if quarterback Dak Prescott leads up front, there’s a high chance Cowboys can win the game.

With the grand divisional matchup approaching, the anticipation of who would carry their NFC East race continues. Although the race wouldn’t be decided on Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys are left with little room for any errors in their following schedules. Mainly because the Cowboys are risking falling by 2.5 games behind the Philadelphia Eagles if they face a loss in Week 9.

The good thing about the Cowboys is that they have had Philly’s number since 2019, the second year of quarterback Dak Prescott as the starter. With him leading as a quarterback, Dallas has always scored 40 or more points against the Eagles, counting the last three starts.

As longtime rivals set to face each other on the coming Sunday, many analysts have stood their ground with strategies to score the win. Supporting the Cowboys, FS1’s Nick Wright posed an interesting point for the Cowboys to focus on.

Wright put forward a different angle for the Cowboys, saying:

I agree with you Dallas is not gonna be able to run the ball. I think that’s a good thing. Trust your quarterback in this spot against the team he has owned more than any team in the league outside of the Giants, to go in there and cook. CeeDee Lamb in the last two weeks has 135 yards per game, two touchdowns, he’s got 19 of his 21 targets, 15 yards per catch. Dak, since that Niners game, 6 touchdowns, 1 turnover, 200 yards per game and 120 rating. Let Dak go cook.

Compared to the Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts, Prescott is coming off a 300-yard four-touchdown performance, while Hurts has recorded six touchdowns and one interception in the last two games. Wright firmly believes that if quarterback Prescott leads up front, there’s a high chance Cowboys can win the game, which he most certainly wants.

How the Cowboys can stop A.J. Brown, the Eagles’ unstoppable wide receiver?

Another major pivot that the Cowboys need to look for is with the Eagles’ wide receiver. It’s not viable for the Cowboys to stop the rushing attack by the Eagles, and even if they do, slowing down wideout A.J. Brown could possibly be the biggest X-factor for the Cowboys. But it can only be smooth with Trevon Diggs, who isn’t playing due to his ACL injury.

As for slowing down wide receiver Brown, Wright believes that the Cowboys should instead double-team Brown, resulting in forcing Hurts to throw his other receivers. This year in October, WR Brown was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month. In Week 8, he broke off the NFL record of Calvin Johnson, with 125 or more receiving yards for the longest streak of six consecutive games. So far, this season he has six touchdowns, with an average of 17.3 yards per catch.

It’s going to be quite tough for the Cowboys to win if they won’t stop the run and let the Eagles take charge of time of possession. And as the Eagles’ running game has been stumbling a bit lately, Brown can take the lead as being unstoppable for two months.
