Reid is a bonafide legend of the league.

Is Andy Reid retiring? The speculations are rising high amid the playoff buzz of the Kansas City Chiefs. Reid is one of the NFL coaching legends and is considered one of the greatest attacking minds currently working in the league.

However, it seems the dream run of Reid can come to an end as the veteran can announce his departure. Sportswriter Mike Florio argued on the Zach Gelb show:

I think there’s reason to believe. The Chiefs have the possibility on their radar screen; we’ll find out when the season ends. You know, a lot of times guy keeps his mouth shut until it’s all said and done. He doesn’t want to be the story. He doesn’t want to be the focal point. He doesn’t want it to be the issue.

His success with the Kansas City Chiefs is known to everyone. The veteran made his foray into the professional football world as the assistant coach of the Green Bay Packers. He won a Super Bowl with the legendary quarterback Brett Favre. Reid, in the era of the 2000, joined the Philadelphia Eagles as the HC. He had a great stint there, leading the roster to five NFC Championship games between 2001-2008.

Nonetheless, the head coach managed to take the team to the Super Bowl only once. He lost it against the New England Patriots.

Reid became a legendary figure with the Kansas City Chiefs after the veteran joined in 2013-14. He was fired from his previous job and took coaching designation at the Chiefs. Reid has always provided the Chiefs with winning seasons in all of his 11 seasons.

In addition, he led the team to 10 playoff appearances and eight straight AFC West titles. Furthermore, the Chiefs won two Super Bowl rings under his coaching.

The Chiefs are getting ready for the Bills challenge

Amid the retirement rumors, Reid and his team are getting ready for the playoff challenge. For the first time, the Chiefs will have an on-road playoff game, and that too against the Buffalo Bills, a team that has found their rhythm lately. The Bills are on a six-game winning streak and are desperate to make it seven.

The Chiefs have a very good playoff record against the Bills with two playoff wins against them in two consecutive seasons. In addition, Patrick Mahomes has a 12-3 record in the playoff games.

But this time, the situation is a bit different with the Bills having a home advantage. In addition, the Chiefs had a struggling regular season with the offensive inabilities. Hence, it will be a tough game for the Chiefs. If this is Reid’s last season in Pro Football, he will love to win the season at any cost.
