Mike Greenberg blasts Bears as a ‘dumpster fire,’ accuses them of ‘ruining’ Justin Fields due to organizational incompetence

Chicago Bears are 6-23 with Justin Fields as their quarterback.

The Chicago Bears’ QB Justin Fields is struggling at the moment. After a poor start to the season, he vented out his frustrations in a recent press conference when he blamed the coaching staff for his “robotic” during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. Fields later said that he wasn’t blaming the coaches and that he needed to play better.

The Bears organization has copped a lot of heat for their mishandling of a former first-round quarterback. The latest personality to slam the organization is ESPN analyst Mike Greenberg. On his show, Get Up, Greenberg slammed the organization for ”ruining” Fields and called the team a ”dumpster fire.”

“It adds up in the last five years to two top first-round quarterbacks (Fields and Mitchell Trubisky) who came in with a lot of potential and needed good coaching and got none of it” Greenberg said on the show. “So Justin Fields may or may not have been destined to be a great NFL quarterback, but he’s been given absolutely no chance.” He further continued by saying, “They are ruining that kid because of complete organizational incompetence. That place is a Dumpster fire.”

The Bears have started the season 0-2 with Fields struggling to produce at a high level. Fields has played 29 games in his short career so far, and in those 29 games, he has completed just 59.8 percent of his passes and has almost as many interceptions as touchdowns. He hasn’t looked comfortable in that Bears offense and will hope to turn things around as soon as possible.

Justin Fields and OC Luke Getsy hug at practice days after QB’s comments on coaching

Justin Fields created a lot of buzz with his press conference on Wednesday. He held his coaches accountable for his “robotic” play and suggested that coaching was one of the reasons why he wasn’t playing freely to begin the season.

After the fiery press conference, Fields went back on his comments and said he wasn’t blaming anything on the coaching. At practice on Thursday, Fields shared a rather awkward hug with the Chicago Bears‘ OC Luke Getsy. The caption read, “Hug it out guy, hug it out.”

It seems like all is well in Chicago, but the team is yet to register its first win of the season as they head to the Arrowhead Stadium this Sunday. Fields and the Bears will hope to get their first win of the season against the defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. Easier said than done.
