Rob Gronkowski wildly suggests Mac Jones should ask for a release from the Patriots and sign with the Browns amid Deshaun Watson’s season-ending injury

Deshaun Watson is reportedly set to go an season-ending shoulder surgery.

The future of the New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones is uncertain. Bill Belichick, the head coach of the Patriots remained uncommitted to Jones continuing as their starter following their week 10 loss against the Indianapolis Colts in Germany. Amidst this, the Pats legend Rob Gronkowski suggested Jones ask for a release and try to sign with the Browns after their star QB Deshaun Watson decided to go through a season-ending surgery.

During the recent episode of the FanDuel Show Up & Adams, show host Kay Adams and the show’s regular guest Rob Gronkowski discussed Mac Jones’ future in the league.

I think Mac Jones should ultimately, even right now, should just go and ask for his release. Ask for his release. And then if it gets granted,
he should go sign with the Cleveland Browns and start a new career right there. They need a new quarterback. Imagine that, how wild would that be?

The Browns just lost their starting quarterback Deshaun Watson as he is set to undergo a season-ending surgery on his shoulder. His shoulder has been bugging him for a while as he missed multiple games with that injury. Now, he has decided to get the surgery and get fully healthy ahead of the 2024 season.

The Browns are currently planning to start their rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson. They don’t have a lot of other options since the trade deadline is over and there aren’t many free agents that could be a better option than their 2023 5th-round draft pick.

So, Gronkowski believes the Browns would welcome Mac Jones to their team if he becomes a free agent and shared this wild suggestion. Gronk believes, Jones would be a perfect fit in the Browns offense and could revive his career in New England.

Mac Jones has allegedly lost the trust of the Patriots locker room

The former first-round pick Mac Jones’ time in New England is running out. Following the Patriots’ 8th loss of the season last weekend, reports suggest Jones has lost the trust of the locker room.

According to The Boston Herald, Jones has reportedly lost the trust of the guys on both sides of the ball. Besides, head coach Bill Belichick also said that he is going to look and evaluate every single position in their bye week.

The 25-year-old QB is currently playing in his third year in the league. He went to Pro Bowl and led his team to the postseason in his rookie year. But since then his career has been spiraling downwards. Jones has been benched three times in this season alone and he might not get another chance with the Patriots.
