Robert Griffin III proposes a kissing picture of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce as Madden’s cover to boost its sale after The Tortured Poets Department’s success on Spotify

RG3 predicted that Swift’s influence will make Madden a popular game.

Robert Griffin III has a suggestion for EA Sports developers of the popular football video game Madden. The former NFL quarterback is quite sure if EA features Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on the cover, then it will sell like hotcakes.

Robert Griffin III‘s confidence stems from the massive success of Swift’s latest album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ In just 12 hours, it became the most-listened-to and streamed album in Spotify history.

Taylor Swift's new album The Tortured Poets Department shattered the Spotify record for the most streamed album in a single day in 2024 in less than 12 hours. There is no doubt that this Madden Cover would lead to the greatest selling Madden game of all time.

It wouldn’t harm anyone to piggyback on that success. At the rate Swift and Kelce’s romance is sprinting, if EA manages to feature the lovebirds’ famous kissing picture from the Super Bowl on the cover of the next edition of the game, then undeniably it will become the highest-selling Madden of all time.

Taylor Swift should be wary of Travis Kelce being affected by the Madden curse

Griffin last year suggested that Damar Hamlin should be on the cover. The Buffalo Bills safety went into cardiac arrest in January 2023 during the Cincinnati Bengals game. He later recovered and rejoined the Bills at OTAs.

EA Sports should make Damar Hamlin the Madden 24 Cover Athlete. [Let's] celebrate a moment that brought us all together for once, regardless of what team you cheer for.

EA went with Hamlin’s teammate and quarterback, Josh Allen. The 27-year-old did not have the best of seasons. He led the league with the most interceptions thrown with 18. Not only that, he had thrown the most picks since entering the league in 2018 with 78. The Bills barely managed to squeeze into the playoffs. They eventually lost to Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The featured player on the Madden cover suffering a bad season is nothing new. It’s a phenomenon that has existed since 1999. San Francisco 49ers star running back Garrison Hearst was the first player to feature, who one year later broke his ankle, missing out on two years of his football career.

Barry Sanders was the next name to appear on the cover. However, the former Detroit Lions running back suddenly retired. It started the rumor of the Madden curse.

Since then, several players, including Ray Lewis and Marshall Faulk, have found their photos on the famous game. Afterwards, they had to go through severe struggles during their career. If Taylor Swift is aware of this curse, then perhaps she would vote against it. Kelce just won back-to-back Super Bowls and is aiming for a three-peat. The curse could prevent him from achieving that goal.
