NFL fans also doubted Caleb Williams’ credibility as a football player and suggested the NFL teams not to draft him.

As USC advanced to the Sweet 16, they had a special guest among the audience during the 73-55 victory over the Kansas Jayhawks. Decked up in a yellow sweatshirt styled with pink accessories, USC football star Caleb Williams came down to Los Angeles to support the USC women’s basketball team.

Unfortunately, NFL fans didn’t like Williams’ love for the pink color as he is projected to be the No. 1 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft and most likely to lead a team of men in football. He was brutally trolled all over social media as they mocked him and even questioned his sexual orientation. On top of that, they also doubted his credibility as a football player and suggested not to draft him.

All of this, just because the 22-year-old broke the typical jock stereotype at the women’s basketball game and chose to carry a pink iPhone, pink wallet, pink nails, and chapped lips. Seeing the brutality in the fans’ words against the USC star, Robert Griffin III jumped in support of him and urged the NFL fans to stop their hatred towards the quarterback.

Griffin III wrote on X, and tagged Williams on the post:

Let Caleb Williams be Caleb Williams. Ain’t nothing wrong with him wearing pink fingernail polish and having a pink phone case. Quite frankly, if he goes to Chicago then Bears’ fans should be rocking whatever he is. Stop the hate and accept him for who he is

Previously, Williams has revealed how his mom, being a nail technician, has always maintained his nails since high school. It has now become a part of his personality and he doesn’t mind it as well. Despite that, looking at fans’ hatred, it appears they have already judged the young quarterback even before his NFL career took off.

Caleb Williams remains favorite to be the No. 1 pick

Despite the USC star quarterback receiving extreme criticism from the fans, he remains the most likely prospect to be the No. 1 pick. The Chicago Bears are focusing on his performance more promptly rather than his off-field activities and losing a great perspective in the process.

After trading their former starter Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this month, the franchise has opened all doors for Williams’ grand welcome. They even sent a bunch of prominent representatives to witness his workout at USC’s Annual Pro Day, which he truly aced.

Although there are other prospects available in the Draft, who many believe are better than Williams, the Bears have made up their mind for him. Williams remains to be their favorite to be their No. 1 pick.
