Ronda Rousey takes a dig at Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor for being motivated only by money

Bantamweight Rousey makes her comeback at UFC 207 later this month and had some harsh words for Mayweather and McGregor who could be sharing the same ring in 2017

RONDA ROUSEY has aimed a shot at both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor – accusing the pair of being motivated only by money.

The 29-year-old MMA star makes her highly anticipated return to the Octagon at UFC 207 later this month against the current Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes in Las Vegas.

And despite being one of the biggest names in the sport – earning millions through pay-per-views and commercial endorsements – the former champion has vowed she will do things her way.

“If money is the motivation, then f*ck you,” Rouse blasted to ESPN Magazine.

“All these Money people. … Money [Floyd] Mayweather, Money [Conor] McGregor. I see they’re trying to do an angle or whatever.

“People buy it. … The worship of money in our society is so deep.

Two-weight world champion McGregor got a boxing licence last month that prompted fans and media to talk up a meeting with Mayweather that could happen next year.

McGregor said he would knock out the 49-0 boxing champ, who has won world titles in five divisions, prompting Mayweather to laugh at the prospect of facing the Irishman.

McGregor then went on an x-rated rant, saying “f*** Floyd Mayweather” as he claimed he would be the bigger draw if they met in the ring.

Rousey suffered her first defeat against Holly Holm at UFC 193 last year and admitting she got distracted by outside forces leading up to the fight.

She added: “I was just trying to make too many people happy, but when I try and do favors and make everybody else happy, at the end of the day, they walk away happy and I’m the one who has to deal with the depression.

“All the pay-per-views in the world, all the money in the world, it means f****ing nothing to me because I lost.”

The former champ was depressed after the second round knockout loss to Holm.

She revealed to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres that she contemplated suicide in the moments following the second-round knockout defeat.
