Ryan Clark claims ex-SB champion Russell Wilson is no longer ‘good at football’ amid consistent poor results

From calling Russell Wilson The Best Player in the NFL” to no longer “good at football,” Ryan Clark has officially lost all faith in the ex-Seattle Seahawks quarterback. The ESPN football analyst has made it very clear that Wilson will not be a part of the conversation when it comes to the best NFL players.

Despite the best efforts, the quarterback’s performance has been deteriorating with each game. There was a time when Wilson was counted among the best NFL players after winning the Super Bowl in 2014.

As Wilson goes down the performance graph, the former safety Clark shared his opinion, saying, “The first thing is, you should have known that this is one of the worst matches of coaches and quarterbacks schematically and personality-wise.”

It’s in everybody’s best interest to make this work, but when your quarterback is cooked, when your quarterback is washed, there’s nothing you can do,” he added. Clark believes that the Broncos put their team in jeopardy when they made the trade for Wilson and the deal they signed him after the trade, has resulted in creating a very difficult situation for the team.

The Russell Wilson brand has now become so much bigger than the player,” the analyst observed. “The other side of it, which is very true, is Russell Wilson is no longer good at football. We were making excuses for Russell Wilson like he was a first-year player.” Clark believes it’s not too late for coach Sean Payton to turn his team around, but in doing so, they’d have to rebuild it entirely. However, Wilson’s deal is worth $85 million which is quite a big number for the team to build something.

Russell Wilson’s future with the Denver Broncos

This season has been going on awfully for the Broncos with a record of 1-5, especially after their quarterback Wilson had his worst offensive. This leads to a possible unsure future for Wilson with the team.

According to The Athletic‘s Dianna Russini, it’s quite unclear whether coach Sean Payton would bring back Wilson to the team, after this season of NFL. And as analysts anticipate, if Wilson were a part of the Broncos, it would be very surprising.

Quarterback Wilson wrapped up Week 6 of this season by throwing for 95 yards and completing 13 out of a total of 22 passes. This marks literally the second-lowest percentage ever recorded this season.
