Cowboys have had great luck in their home games, as they won all five of them.
As the Dallas Cowboys claimed victory over the Washington Commanders, they improved to an impressive 8-3 record. As of now, they remain second in the NFC East. In the most watched TV program game since Super Bowl LVII, after a slow start, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense came off strongly in the second half. It resulted in an astonishing 45-10 win for the Mike McCarthy led team over their divisional rivals.
Next Thursday, the Cowboys are scheduled to face off against the Seattle Seahawks. After that, the team would face another divisional rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, the strongest team this season with only one loss, on December 10. The team led by Mike McCarthy need to win out the remaining games to win the division.
However, it seemed like, for now, the Cowboys’ priority is the Seattle Seahawks. Head coach Mike McCarthy, his players are aiming for a competitive win against the Seahawks to improve their season records.
While talking on the matter, McCarthy was approached by Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News about the upcoming game against the Eagles. This is what the head coach replied:
I don’t think we’re peaking around the corner at the Philly game. Seattle is giving us plenty to worry about.Mike McCarthy via Dallas Morning News.
When Mike McCarthy was asked about Philly coming up in two weeks he said “I don’t think we’re peaking around the corner at the Philly game. Seattle is giving us plenty to worry about.”

Well, in many ways, aiming to conquer the Seahawks is a smart decision for Dallas, as the team is for sure a challenging NFC opponent. They stand at a 6-5 season record. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have had luck in their home games, winning all five of them. And as the final five weeks are remaining this season, Dallas needs to be careful and aim to improve their position for the postseason.
Mike McCarthy’s Dallas Cowboys wins have come against below .500 teams
As the 2023 season proceeds towards its final few weeks, the actual fun begins now. On paper, until now the Cowboys had an easier schedule. Their eight wins came against teams below .500. Super Bowl contenders San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles handed losses to the Cowboys.

The Cowboys have yet to prove that they are worthy contenders this season. Division rivals Commanders and Giants have below .500 record. So does the other teams they have beaten. Their pedigree will be determined once they win against the Eagles in the coming week.
The franchise’s championship drought has been going on for 27 years, as Dallas has not gone past the divisional round of the playoffs. But with the final five weeks approaching, the Cowboys have an opportunity to get above that in the next two games, the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles.
