Aaron Rodgers is ruled out for the remainder of the 2023 season with an Achilles injury.

The Dallas Cowboys are currently preparing to face the New York Jets in week 2 of the 2023 NFL season. The Jets will be playing with their second-string QB Zach Wilson since their starter Aaron Rodgers has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with an Achilles injury. Amidst this, the Cowboys QB Dak Prescott was asked whether the veteran QB being out diminished the week 2 matchup between the Cowboys and the Jets.

“Sh*t no,” Prescott told the reporters. “Obviously I wanted to play against the guy. I’ve had a lot of great battles with him over the years. Hell of a player.  It sucks that he’s not going to be out there. But to say it diminishes an NFL game would be wild of me, especially understanding how great this defense is.”

Furthermore, the 2-time Pro Bowl QB Dak Prescott went on to show respect to the New York-based franchise and claimed the Jets are a commendable unit even in the absence of the 10-time Pro Bowl QB Aaron Rodgers.

“Watch the way that they won that game the other night,” Prescott said. “They’ve got our respect and haven’t lost any bit of that. Just tough not playing a guy that I’ve enjoyed competing against for the entirety of my career.”

The Jets defense had three interceptions against the Josh Allen-led Buffalo Bills last week. They are currently one of the best defensive units in the league and will certainly be a massive test for Prescott and the Cowboys in their matchup on Sunday.

The Dallas Cowboys will be going against the NY Jets on Sunday. They started their season with a blowout victory against the New York Giants last week and now they are looking to improve their record to 2-0.

The Jets will be playing without their starting QB, which will be a massive advantage for the Cowboys’ defense. Still, Zach Wilson, who is trying to solidify his job, could end up surprising a lot of people with the offensive weapons around him.

On the other hand, the Cowboys are expected to be at their full strength. If Prescott and his offensive weapons could score big against the Jets’ top-tier defense, the Dallas-based football team might end up winning comfortably.

The Cowboys’ division rivals Philadelphia Eagles have already won their week 2 game. So, Prescott and Co. would have to keep up with them with a victory to stay in the division title race.
