“Something that’s beyond repair..” Shannon Sharpe launches a verbal attack on Jerry Jones for creating an unhealthy culture at Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys faced yet another playoff disappointment this year.

The Dallas Cowboys had another frustrating season because of their early playoff exit. Despite having a great regular season, the team choked at the stage where they were expected to perform the best. This is not the first time the team suffered a playoff loss. This has become a norm for the Cowboys of late as they have faced the same fate in the last few years as well.

After the loss, the Cowboys’ players and the head coach Mike McCarthy received a lot of blame. But ESPN analyst Shannon Sharpe believes the real person who needs to be blamed is Jerry Jones, the veteran billionaire owner of the team. In the recent episode of the show First Take, the former analyst expressed his disgrace over the veteran owner.

Sharpe said:

The problem that they have is something that’s beyond repair, that’s beyond fixing. And that’s Jerry Jones. Jerry Jones created the culture. So this is what you get right now. You get guys making excuses, and the Cowboys have had the better team a number of years in the postseason, but they lose.

This is not the first time Jerry Jones has received heat. Earlier, Chad Johnson also claimed that the team lost because of Jerry Jones’ mentality of running the team. He clearly stated that Jones never wanted the Cowboys to march their way to the Super Bowl. He only wanted his business interests to be served. Interestingly, Sharpe was present in that conversation as well.

Chad Johnson said:

Say his name loud and clear! That’s the problem, Jerry Jones is the reason why they can’t get past the first round. That’s the problem! Jerry I love you, I love the way you conduct business. Go ahead and get in the background and let them boys handle their business from now on.

Shannon Sharpe also had the same thought about Jerry Jones

Shannon Sharpe hinted that the team members do not have the independence to run the operations as Jerry Jones keeps on interfering in their business. He stated that if the head coach wanted to implement coaching tactics he had to ask Jones first.

Sharpe noted:

It’s something they can’t overcome because the coaches can’t coach because Jerry is the coach, and whatever Mike McCarthy says, whatever the D-Coordinator says, they can go upstairs to Jerry and override because he’s emasculated the head coach. The coach is the coach in theory, in title only.

After the playoff loss, Jerry Jones kept his faith in Dak Prescott and the head coach Mike McCarthy. He said that he believes that Prescott can lead the team to the Super Bowl.
