Stephen A. Smith believes Dak Prescott played better than Jalen Hurts in Week 8

Cowboys critic Stephen A. Smith admits Dak Prescott is better than Eagles’ Jalen Hurts.

Stephen A. Smith, the ESPN analyst is known for primarily two things that he talks about on television – his animated personality and the never-ending criticism of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, among the football fans. So naturally, when he says something nice about Prescott, it means the quarterback has truly aced it.

The Dallas Cowboys brutally defeated the Los Angeles Rams 43-20, resulting in their 11 consecutive home victories. Prescott was amazing during the game, as he completed 25 out of 31 passes for 304 yards with four touchdowns and one interception- which wasn’t because of his fault.

The quarterback didn’t just outperform his opponent, but in fact, registered his career’s sixth game for exceeding 300 passing yards with four touchdown passes. With such remarks, Prescott deserved the appreciation and Smith gave that to him.

During a recent episode of ESPN’s First Take, analyst Smith appreciated Cowboys QB for his performance against the Rams and also compared him to the Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, saying he played better than Hurts.

I gotta give credit where credit is due…… I’m not gonna sit up there and dog [Prescott] all 16 weeks— a vast majority of the time I have a reason to do so, yesterday was not one of those times. He showed up on Sunday, but he usually shows up when they get off early, and he’s got a lead, a little cushion. It’s when it’s tight and it’s late and the pressure is there, it’s a little bit different. That’s not what happened yesterday.

Cowboys truly dominated the Rams, as they scored 33-9 at halftime before the Rams got back a couple of TDs. Then in the second half, he sealed the victory scoring 11-10. The team with a 5-2 record ranks second in the NFC East, below the Eagles at 7-1.

Cowboys vs Eagles – A battle for supremacy in Week 9

Entering Week 9, the Cowboys are scheduled to face off Philadelphia Eagles for a big-time game, on Sunday. Both teams stand at a strong position this season, especially as the top two NFC rankings.

Coming off a bye week, Dak Prescott is totally prepared after outperforming against the Rams, and the WR CeeDee Lamb recently had his biggest game of this season. The NFC East rivals will battle for divisional supremacy in Philadelphia.

Currently, Dallas stands at a 3-point underdog to their opponent Eagles. Philadelphia holds a very strong position and doesn’t matter how they play, they know how to turn it into a victory and they always do.

Cowboys have worked well on their lagging this season, as they improved teams’ offensive issues and also Prescott worked on pushing the ball a little deeper down on the field. As they move forward, they may give tough competition to the Eagles in Week 9. The highly-anticipated game could set the tone for either of the teams for the rest of the season.
