Stephen A. Smith asked if not Dak Prescott, then who the Cowboys are going to get in return?
Stephen A. Smith never misses an opportunity to criticize the Dallas Cowboys. However, when he gives advice in favor of their quarterback– the franchise has to listen. One of those rare moments happened last Wednesday.
In the recent episode of ESPN’s “First Take,” the sports analyst addressed the big quarterback question for the Cowboys this offseason– whether to release Dak Prescott or sign an extension. Smith took everyone by surprise when he strongly made a case on why Dallas should stick with Prescott.
The ESPN analyst said:
I know that I can be critical of them mostly because of their nauseating and disgusting fanbase, I love trolling them, but in all seriousness.
Stephen A. Smith said
He highlighted Prescott’s remarkable stats of having six winning seasons out of his eight seasons with the Cowboys. Smith argued that the quarterback had a good season last season, he just had a bad game resulting in the playoff elimination. He also asked the major question: if not the three-time Pro Bowler, then who will the Cowboys get in return?

The analyst further pointed out that the Cowboys also have to pay Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb, who are up for contract extensions. He emphasized the fact there aren’t any available quarterbacks who have outperformed Prescott, which means the team’s best bets are with him only.
Stephen A. Smith’s take on Dak Prescott amid Steelers’ QB moves
While arguing why the Cowboys shouldn’t risk losing quarterback Prescott, Smith took a troll at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Given, that they recently signed Russell Wilson and Justin Fields as their new starting and backup quarterback respectively, following Kenny Pickett’s trade to the Eagles.
Smith argued:
If there was a quarterback out there, who was better than Dak Prescott, hell, the Pittsburgh Steelers wouldn’t be celebrating having Russell Wilson and Justin Fields so badly.

Wilson, who played last season as a Denver Broncos quarterback finished the season at 8-9, and he also hasn’t had a winning season for quite some time now. And the Steelers’ backup quarterback Fields had three back-to-back losing seasons with the Bears, resulting in his trade season this season.
