Cowboys lose their 4th game on the road.

So close yet so far for Dak Prescott. Just when the Dallas Cowboys nation started to believe they were serious contenders for the Super Bowl, they lost against an opponent with the same goal.

After three straight home games, Prescott and the Cowboys traveled to the meadowlands to face the Buffalo Bills. Famously, Mike McCarthy‘s side is not great on the road, losing all three of their games prior to the matchup at Orchard Park. To make matters worse, the Buffalo Bills were booming with confidence after edging out the reigning Super Bowl winner, the Kansas City Chiefs.

It showed as Josh Allen and Co. humiliated the Cowboys 31-10. Losing by 21 points has put a massive question mark on Prescott’s credibility as an MVP contender. According to FOX Sports analyst and former NFL player Emmanuel Acho on X,

No NFL MVP has lost by a margin of 21 or more after Week 14 since the turn of the century.

Social media dismissed Dak Prescott’s MVP chances

Even though the Cowboys are through to the playoffs as they have 10 wins in their account, the Bills loss will leave a psychological mark on the players. Winning against teams like Buffalo helps fans believe in their team’s growth. That’s especially true for Dallas, which has had the 25th-strongest schedule this season.

And if they had managed to secure a win over the Bills, it would have given the Cowboys the necessary confidence to play their remaining tough couple of fixtures. However, the loss has created a cloud of doubt as to whether Prescott is good enough to lead the team to victory in the postseason.

Besides winning three games out of seven on the road, the Cowboys don’t have a great record against the stronger teams, which puts a massive question mark on Dak Prescott’s MVP chances. While they beat the Philadelphia Eagles 33-13, earlier they got blown away by the San Francisco 49ers 42-10.

That aside, the loss against the Bills opens the door for the Eagles to win the NFC East. It means the Cowboys could open their playoff games on the road. McCarthy has to find ways not to drop points in their remaining fixtures. But it’s easier said than done because the Miami Dolphins are next, and that’s at Hard Rock Stadium.
