Tom Brady lauds Aaron Rodgers’ attempt to recover in time to play again for the Jets this season

Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles tear in week 1 against the Bills.

Aaron Rodgers raised many eyebrows when he was spotted walking without crutches on Sunday at the MetLife Stadium. He was also seen throwing football and playing catch with New York Jets‘ CB Sauce Gardner. The young defenseman also missed the Jets’ week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a concussion. Rodgers is doing this just weeks after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury.

There were a lot of skeptics who felt that Rodgers was overdoing it and should be nursing his injury instead. Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless thought the 39-year-old QB was doing his best to ‘seek attention.’ Rodgers wants to come back and play by the end of the season and former NFL quarterback Tom Brady has no problems with that.

“He’s pretty determined to get back and I really appreciate that about Aaron. Some guys I think use injuries as an excuse not to play,” Brady said on the Let’s Go! Podcast. “The inspiring part for me when I see a guy like that is it shows you the love of the game that he has. He doesn’t wanna miss anything for his teammates. I had that feeling. I know all the great competitors want to be out there every single week.”

He further continued by saying, “Aaron’s finding every way to try to get back on the field. And hopefully his team’s still in it if he does have a chance. I know it’s a tough battle. That’s an incredible injury that he’s trying to come back from. I appreciate his effort. And that’s the approach that winners take, is they try to get back out there to get back in the fight with their buddies.”

Rodgers suffered his injury during the Jets’ week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. He has been nursing the injury since then as he prepares to make a sensational return later this season.

Aaron Rodgers says he is ‘ahead-of-schedule’ in his comeback from the Achilles injury

Aaron Rodgers is apparently ahead of schedule in his Achilles injury comeback. The four-time league MVP suffered an Achilles tear earlier this season and was ruled out for the entire season. Since then, Rodgers has been working to get back to the field by the end of this season and by the looks of it, he might achieve that.

“You have to hit a bunch of different things and be found a certain way, but that’s the goal,” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show. “Practicing and everybody signing off on it. Hopefully, we get to have those conversations.”

The New York Jets are 3-3 without Rodgers playing at center. Their backup QB Zach Wilson has been doing a decent job after a rough start to his season. Rodgers might be able to comeback if the Jets get into the postseason.
