Troy Aikman won the Cowboys’ last Super Bowl in 1996.

The Dallas Cowboys’ last Super Bowl victory came in 1996 with Troy Aikman as their starting quarterback. Since then, the Cowboys are yet to taste a conference title, let alone a Super Bowl success.

This year, the Cowboys were expected to make the Super Bowl as their QB Dak Prescott had one of his best seasons of his career. However, after another playoff disappointment, the pressure on HC Mike McCarthy is piling up.

Amidst all that, Aikman believes that a certain Bill Belichick will be a great fit for the Cowboys’ job. The former New England Patriots‘ HC ended his 24-year association with the team after the regular season. Belichick and the Patriots finished the campaign with 4-13. Teams in need of a head coach will look at the six-time Super Bowl champion as their top target.

Aikman, the last Super Bowl winning QB for the Cowboys, spoke about the possibility of Belichick to Dallas.

I understand the Bill Belichick argument. If there were a change, it would seem like that’s the one that makes the most sense… Bill Belichick is interested in two things, one, he wants to set the record and two he wants to win a Super Bowl without Tom Brady as his quarterback. In Dallas he would have the opportunity to do both those things.

Aikman said on The Stephen A. Smith show

Belichick will attract a lot of interest in the upcoming offseason. However, it will be up to the legendary HC to decide where he wants to land going forward.

Troy Aikman blasts Philadelphia Eagles for their embarrassing loss against the Buccaneers

The Philadelphia Eagles shocked the world by getting blown away by the Baker Mayfield-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was so bad that former Dallas Cowboys’ Super Bowl winning QB Troy Aikman slammed the Eagles on the call for their poor performance after the game on ESPN’s Monday Night Football.

I know there’s a difference between what players and coaches say, and what they feel. They said all the right things, but you could tell they weren’t feeling it… You cannot go into next season status quo.
Aikman said

He further continued,

I don’t know what that is but we’ve seen enough of it all year long. It continues…on both sides of the ball, to just show the problems that Philadelphia has had and why they had the collapse that they had to end this season.

The Eagles were never in the game and the Bucs dominated them from start to finish. The Bucs won the game, 32-9, and will take on the Detroit Lions in Detroit on Sunday.
