The NFL’s drug testing policy during the season has become very predictable this season. If a player has a good game, well in that case in addition to the cheers from fans, they will also get a complimentary drug test from the league. Lions’ RB Jahmyr Gibbs and Bengals backup QB Jake Browning were drug tested after they put up impressive performances in the last few weeks, the latest addition to the list is CeeDee Lamb.

The wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys was hit with a random drug test notification following his historic 227-yard performance against the Detroit Lions. The notice was sent so quickly that Lamb could not help but laugh at it, he posted a story of the notification with the caption:

CeeDee Lamb had the best night of his career, the highlight of the game was a 92-yard pass thrown from Dak Prescott, which the wideout managed to comfortably take to the endzone. The touchdown pass was the longest thrown in the league this season.

CeeDee Lamb broke a longstanding franchise record of the Dallas Cowboys in the team’s win against the Detroit Lions

Last night, 88 broke a record which was set by another Hall of Fame player who also wore number 88 on the Cowboys. CeeDee Lamb broke Michael Irvin’s single-season franchise record of 111 receptions for 1,603 yards set in 1995. The wideout has 122 receptions for 1,651 yards. It so happened that Irvin was present on the sidelines to witness his own record being broken as last night, the Cowboys inducted Jimmy Johnson into the team’s Ring of Honor.

It feels nothing less than a prophecy, everything is going right this season for the Cowboys. When Irvin set the single-season franchise record, the team went on to win the Super Bowl. For long, Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson have had their share of differences but after the former’s decision to induct him in the Ring of Honor, all is well between them.

Will this finally be the season the Dallas Cowboys make it to the Super Bowl? Lamb has established himself as the primary wideout of the team, he has finally stepped up to the plate and has taken charge of the responsibility entrusted to him.
