WATCH: Brock Purdy gets awkward when reporter quizzes him about being compared to John F. Kennedy’s assassinator, Lee Harvey Oswald

The San Francisco 49ers will be facing the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday.

In the NFL, it is very common for quarterbacks to get compared with each other. However, it surely will be troublesome if someone compares a quarterback to a real-life killer. Especially if the person is the former US President John F. Kennedy’s assassinator.

The awkward incident took place with Brock Purdy. A Kansas City Chiefs fan sarcastically posted a tweet where he added collaged photos of the two. He wrote that Purdy had some uncanny similarities with John F. Kennedy’s murderer, Lee Harvey Oswald.

Purdy later addressed a few questions surrounding this issue. He met with the media during the pre-Super Bowl LVIII hype presser. The quarterback got awkward when he heard the comparison for the first time and claimed that he was not aware of anything like this.

I have not. It is the first time I have heard it.

Purdy said when the reporter asked him whether he had heard the comparison.

The 49ers QB made some awkward sounds that reflected how astonished he was to hear such a weird comparison of things.

The tussle between the fans regarding the Super Bowl has already begun. The Niners fans were seen taking over the streets and cheering with Brock Purdy’s name. Later, they also trolled Travis Kelce with continuous booing during the opening night for the big game. The recent awkward incident involving JFK’s killer might be one of the ways that the Chiefs fans might have resorted to trolling back.

Shanahan revealed Purdy has been a very humble man

Ahead of the game against the Chiefs, Kyle Shanahan, the head coach of the 49ers, revealed that Brock Purdy has been very humble with his approach. People considered Trey Lance a brighter prospect than Brock Purdy. Nonetheless, with time, Purdy emerged as one of the finest QBs in this season.

If someone stood firm with Purdy since day one, then he was Kyle Shanahan, who considered Purdy as one of the most talented quarterbacks ever. In a recent interview, Shanahan talked about the most humble side of the quarterback. He noted,

It comes from somewhere, I’m sure, his parents. I think it has a lot to do with his faith. He has a foundation in him of who he is as a human being. He is so confident in who he is as a person. He’s one of the most confident, humble people I’ve ever been around. Borderline cocky, which is such the wrong word because he’s so humble and such a good dude. He one thousand percent believes in himself. This doesn’t surprise him at all.

Purdy’s eyes are now all set to the ultimate goal. He finished the job of winning the NFC conference. Now it is all about that Super Bowl ring. The quarterback will get an opportunity to shake his hands with greatness on February 11.
