However, his recent decisions during the NFL combine draft process have raised a lot of eyebrows among fans and experts. Amidst this, a reporter put Williams on the spot with his straightforward question at the press conference.

During the press conference at the NFL Combine event in Indianapolis, Caleb Williams addressed the media and fielded some questions. The first question during the press conference was a straightforward one about whether Williams is afraid to perform at the NFL combine.

Caleb, are you afraid to compete? How do you respond to people saying that you’re worried to be compared side-by-side with your peers in medicals, measurements, and workouts? Are you afraid to be measured against those guys one-on-one? Is that why you’re not doing things?

The projected No.1 overall pick seemed to be baffled by the question but remained calm and answered the question. He shut down the narrative about being afraid to throw the ball and said the decision to participate at the Combine was made by his team and family.

Williams has previously said that he won’t throw or workout at the NFL Combine, which is a normal thing for a prospect like him. However, that doesn’t stop people from speculating on things. Besides, the former Heisman Trophy winner also recently refused to go through the medical examinations and has reportedly refused to sign off on having his medical records shared with all 32 NFL teams.

As previously mentioned, his decisions have led to him receiving a lot of backlash on social media. Many believe he is purposely tanking his draft stock to avoid being selected by the Chicago Bears, who are currently holding the No.1 overall pick. Still, some expect the Bears to rope in Williams despite his questionable decisions.
