Prescott’s No. 1 target this season, CeeDee Lamb, was successful in surpassing the single season reception record of Michael Irvin on Saturday.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had a surprising reaction after the game against the Detroit Lions. The Cowboys were successful in clinching a dying-minute win against the Lions and Prescott deserved the most credit behind that.

However, he was not seen celebrating the win while returning to the dressing room. The signal-caller was instead seen talking to one of his teammates and giving a few seconds lecture on positioning, at least his hand moves suggested that.

A short video captured him expressionless despite his touchdown and a field goal drive shaped the final results of the game. It was a roller-coaster ride from the very beginning of the game.

The Lions took the first lead through a field goal in the first quarter and the Cowboys returned it with TD. In the third quarter, the Lions had a touchdown to take the score to 10-7, and the Cowboys returned with Brandon Aubrey‘s 53-yard field goal to level up. With this scoreline, the fourth quarter became important to settle the winner.

The Cowboys had a great start as they ‘cooked’ it well with a Dak Prescott touchdown pass. Brandin Cooks received an 8-yard pass from Prescott that took the lead to 17-13.

In addition, Brandon Aubrey had a 43-yard FG to extend the lead to 20-13. With less than a minute to go, the Lions responded with a Jarred Goff TD. With a point to trail, the Lions went for a two-point game-winning drive that could have sealed things for them. They even managed to get into the endzone, but it was controversially overturned.

Was Prescott not satisfied with his HC’s playcalling decisions?

Dak Prescott looked unsatisfied while returning to the dressing room. It is difficult to guess why he got frustrated but the reason mayne in his HC Mike McCarthy’s playcalling decisions. The Cowboys were leading by a comfortable margin and the Lions got back the ball and led two successful drives. The fans lost their calm and slammed McCarthy on social media as a result.

Despite some great offensive records so far, the Cowboys had a so-so offensive performance. Prescott had an interception and was sacked multiple times. CeeDee Lamb had a poor fumble in the endzone. Though he had more than 200 yards, the fumbles could have had a vital role. Nonetheless, Lamb had a record-breaking night as he surpassed Michael Irvin‘s most receptions record in a single season for the Cowboys and Irvin loved it.

I love it–If you retire a number and they put it in the rafters, they show it in passing and then go right back to the game. If your number is on the best player’s back, every time he makes a play, they say ‘oh, he looks like Michael Irvin.’ If he drops a ball, they say ‘Michael Irvin wouldn’t have dropped that.’ When we get to these places where we’re breaking records, I love it.
Irvin said via CBS when asked about Lamb breaking his record. The Cowboys have now improved to 11-5 with that victory. Next, they are scheduled to go against their division rivals Washington Commanders in their final regular season game next weekend.
