WATCH: “Zach Wilson written all over this dude” – J.J. McCarthy’s 65-yard dime to Blake Corum at Pro Day fails to impress fans on social media

The Michigan Wolverines had their Pro Day on Friday.

The NFL off-season is heating up as the league steadily approaches the 2024 Draft. With just a few weeks left for the event, the Michigan Wolverines held their Pro Day on Friday, headlined by their star quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

McCarthy is currently viewed as the 4th best QB prospect in the 2024 Draft class. On Friday, he had a good outing on Pro Day leading to a rise in his draft stocks. Especially, McCarthy completed an impressive long pass to his running back Blake Corum, which stunned the scouts and coaches.

In a short video that went viral on social media, McCarthy could be seen launching a 65-yard dime to RB Corum, who completed the catch. McCarthy’s teammates, scouts, and coaches were impressed with his arm strength and accuracy. Check out the footage of the pass attached below.

The Wolverines’ Pro Day was attended by many scouts and coaches, including their former head coach Jim Harbaugh, who recently accepted a gig with the Los Angeles Chargers. It’s safe to assume McCarthy impressed the scouts with his outing.

Following his performance, McCarthy had a chat with The Athletic. During the interview, he shared that his goal on Friday was to show the scouts that he could make all the throws necessary to succeed in the league.

I just wanted to showcase the questions they had about out-breakers to the left and putting some air on the deep posts, stuff like that. I felt like I did that today. I’m pretty confident with the showing I put out there.

J.J. McCarthy told the Athletic

Some believe McCarthy might be drafted in the first round of the upcoming draft. But it is highly unlikely that a team would spend a first-round pick on him. He is expected to get drafted in the late second round or early third round.

Fans not impressed with J.J. McCarthy’s performance at the Pro Day

The Michigan Wolverines QB had an impressive outing at their Pro Day on Friday. Still, he failed to gain the support of the fans, who just viewed him as a system product of Jim Harbaugh.

Many fans compared McCarthy to the New York Jets QB Zach Wilson, who is currently struggling to find a new home after receiving permission for a trade. Check out some of the reactions attached below.

As previously mentioned, McCarthy is viewed as the 4th best QB in the 2024 class. Caleb WilliamsDrake Maye, and Jayden Daniels are all viewed as better prospects than McCarthy.
