Angelina Jolie adopted Pax Thien because of a photo, is it related to a billion-dollar inheritance?
According to Angelina Jolie , she initially had no intention of adopting a child in Vietnam after having Maddox . However, the female star changed her decision at the last minute because of a photo.
In an interview with Vogue magazine about her work helping refugees around the world as a special envoy to the United Nations, Angelina Jolie also shared about her adoption journey. The Hollywood actress first adopted Maddox when she went to Cambodia to film The Secret of the Ancient Tomb, then went to Zahara in Ethiopia and Pax Thien in Vietnam.
When a Vogue reporter asked Angelina Jolie if adopting Pax Thien and Maddox from two neighboring countries was a deliberate decision, she replied: “Yes, I thought about that. At first, I didn’t think about adopting a child in Vietnam because I had Mad who is Cambodian and the two countries have a complicated history. Later, while reading a book about human rights, I couldn’t take my eyes off the image of a Vietnamese soldier imprisoned by the Americans. I’ve been thinking about our country and America’s intervention in Southeast Asia. I thought about a future where we would all be a family. I am so lucky to be Mad and Pax’s mom. Every day I feel grateful.”
Taking care of a family with three adopted children and three biological children, Angelina Jolie feels honored and excited. She shared: “Each child is wonderful in their own way in the family. The important thing is to be open about everything and share together. ‘Adoption’, ‘orphanage’ were positive words in our house. With adopted children, I cannot review the story of pregnancy, but I will tell in detail and love about the journey I found the children and the moment I first looked into their eyes . “
Angelina said her adopted children will never lose their roots when living with their parents in America: “All adopted children carry a beautiful mystery about the world where they were born. When children come from another race and foreign land, it is a gift to you, completely. Children will never lose touch with the place they were born. They have roots, which you need to honor and learn from. It’s a magical journey to share together. The children do not enter my world, but we enter each other’s world.”
In the interview, Angelina Jolie also revealed her decision to break up with Brad Pitt after 10 years of togetherness and two years of marriage: “I broke up for the sake of family happiness. It was the right decision. I continue to focus on healing the children. Some people have taken advantage of my silence and the children see lies about themselves in the media, but I always remind them that they know the truth and understand own thoughts. In fact, they are six very brave and strong children.
