Beyoncé cancels show: The crew said it was because the stadium was too small, but netizens pointed out that ticket sales were lower than the Taylor Swift show?

Beyoncé suddenly canceled a concert in Pittsburgh as part of her Renaissance World Tour.

Recently, the official social media page of Acrisure Stadium (Pittsburgh City) broadcast information that  Beyoncé  will cancel her concert here on the evening of August 3, 2023 due to technical reasons and schedule changes.

All ticket fees spent by the audience for this show will be refunded to their payment account as soon as possible. Subsequent shows in Seattle and Kansas City were also rescheduled to a few days later.

Renaissance World Tour is Beyoncé’s extremely epic tour, highly appreciated by experts.

The mayor of  Pittsburgh  also expressed great disappointment when Beyoncé did not perform in the city as planned: “We are ready to welcome her to  Pittsburgh  and honor her with an official holiday.

We are also discussing with the program organizers to understand the problem we are having, and also trying to arrange a new venue or a new show date.” Many internal sources said that Beyoncé’s team assessed that the space at Acrisure Stadium was too small to set up the majestic stage of the Renaissance World Tour.

Notably, Taylor Swift also performed at the above stadium as part of The Eras Tour not long ago. Specifically, The Eras Tour had 2 shows at Acrisure Stadium on the evening of June 16 and 17, attracting a total of 146 thousand spectators.

Taylor Swift also became the first artist to perform at this stadium two consecutive nights in one tour. At the same time, The Eras Tour show on June 17 also set a record for the largest audience ever at Acrisure Stadium with an impressive number: 73,117 attendees.

These are the two biggest tours of the year, attracting strong attention in all aspects, making every city they go through “fever” – so the fact that Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s fandoms are constantly “fighting” is on the table. Comparing the two tours, The Eras Tour and Renaissance World Tour , is easy to see.

Taylor Swift recently performed at The Eras Tour in Pittsburgh with more than 73,000 spectators attending one night

The Eras Tour ‘s stage has a level of investment and area that certainly cannot beat the Renaissance World Tour. That’s why, when the crew said that the reason for canceling the show was because the stage area was too small and could not set up a stage for Beyoncé, netizens were immediately sarcastic.

Many people also pointed out that the real problem lies in the fact that ticket sales for Beyoncé’s show are sold very slowly, far different from the ticket sales speed for Taylor Swift’s show.

Daily Mail said that according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, this stadium still has thousands of unsold tickets even though it has been open for sale for many months. Even the ticket price for the show has been lowered to the point where you only need about 50 USD to get a ticket.

A Ticketmaster ticket sales diagram spread on social network Twitter also shows that almost all areas in Acrisure Stadium have empty seats, and tickets can be purchased easily even though there is only about 1 month left of the event.

There are still many empty seats at Acrisure Stadium, is this the main reason for the show’s cancellation?
