The rap legend and Linkin Park released their joint EP Collision Course in 2004
JAY Z paid tribute to the late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington at V Festival this weekend.
The rap icon performed Numb/Encore from his and the nu-metal band’s collaborative effort Collision Course in memory of the frontman.

Introducing the classic mash-up during his headline slot on the main stage, Jay said: “Can you guys light it up for Chester? Please make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight.”
The performance marked the first time Jay has taken on the track since 2011.
The tragic incident happened on the birthday of his friend and fellow rocker Chris Cornell, who also took his own life earlier this year.
Despite being without wife Beyonce and their three kids, Jay Z took one of the largest helicopters in the world to fly into Hylands Park in Chelmsford, Essex.
And once the whopping aircraft had landed, he was shuttled just the few hundred metres to the stage in military transport.

A source told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “Jay Z’s travel plans were extreme. His S92 helicopter was like nothing seen before, even though none of his family had come with him.
“The thing was so big it even has its own toilet on board. It was huge. V had planned to bring in a fleet of Mercedes-Benz with blacked-out windows for Jay and his crew too.

“But he insisted that would not be good enough. He said his cars had to be bulletproof, so they had to borrow armoured vehicles from the Army.
“There was really no risk of any issues with all the punters being thoroughly searched on-site. But he wasn’t taking any risks ahead of his headline set.”
If that wasn’t enough, Jay was given a half-acre plot backstage boasting five dressing rooms and with 30 security guards on duty.
The superstar flew in early and watched Stormzy play from the side of the stage.
