Fan favorite Rachel from Friends, Jennifer Aniston has recently opened up on one of her deepest personal chapters.

In an exclusive interview to Allure she has talked about one of the most viral rumors about her which is that she broke up with ex-husband Brad Pitt because she did not want to have children.

Jennifer has also shared several pictures of her posing as the cover girl of the magazine on her Instagram profile.
The 53 year old has always been in the limelight after her massive popularity in the show Friends. Her two marriages, personal life and lifestyle has always been under media scrutiny.

On her fertility, Jennifer revealed that she did try to get pregnant several years back and also underwent in-vitro fertilization (IVF). “All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard.

I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed,” she said.

Rumor mills say that Jennifer chose to remain childless. “I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” she told Allure.

Putting an end to the narratives around her broken marriage, she said, “And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid.”

“I don’t have anything to hide at this point,” she added.

“I’ve spent so many years protecting my story about IVF. I’m so protective of these parts because I feel like there’s so little that I get to keep to myself. The [world] creates narratives that aren’t true, so I might as well tell the truth. I feel like I’m coming out of hibernation. I don’t have anything to hide,” she concluded.

In-vitro Fertilization (IVF)

IVF is an assisted reproductive technology which is widely popular these days. It helps with the conception of the child even preventing genetic problems.

There are several factors like age and the cause of infertility that decide the success rate of IVF. Jennifer Aniston was in her “late 30s and 40s” when she tried for IVF.

In IVF, the mature eggs of the female are fertilized with sperm in a laboratory. The fertilized egg or eggs are then transferred to a uterus. Normally one cycle of IVF takes 3 weeks however this can get stretched when the procedures get split.

IVF can either work on the eggs and sperm of the couple or else one can use the eggs and sperm of anonymous donors.

It can also lead to multiple pregnancies. However, the use of IVF is mostly limited because it is an expensive and time taking process.
