“Jennifer totally went to town”: Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Took Home So Much Free Louis Vuitton Goodies They Dropped Her as Brand Ambassador

Jennifer Lopez had a very nasty fallout with Louis Vuitton in the past, which led to the brand ending their partnership

Jennifer Lopez is undoubtedly one of the most well-known and established celebrities in the world right now, as she is truly a master of many businesses, as well as an accomplished actress and singer to boot.

Therefore, it is no surprise her stock continues to rise constantly.

Being such an accomplished businesswoman with her fingers in multiple pots, it isn’t a shocker that Jennifer Lopez has earned a substantial amount of money over the years.

In fact, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Jennifer Lopez has an estimated net worth of $400 million – which is simply astonishing.

Jennifer Lopez Had A Very Nasty Fallout With Louis Vuitton

Jennifer Lopez’s collaboration with Louis Vuitton in 2003 took a very negative turn, leading to her swift exit as the brand ambassador.

Despite her successful campaign, where she showed off Louis Vuitton’s apparel and iconic monogram bags, Lopez’s shocking actions ended up ruining her relationship with the brand.

After their Paris photo shoot campaign was done, The Sun(via The Things) reported that Lopez allegedly helped herself to a substantial collection of Louis Vuitton merchandise.

She was said to have filled bags with shoes, handbags, dresses, and more, with the estimated value exceeding $6,000 (£5,000).

It was then revealed that Lopez went beyond the typical practice of taking a few items from the shoot.
There is an unwritten understanding that whenever someone does one of our shoots they can help themselves to a few things. These are pieces they have worn and really taken a shine to. But Jennifer totally went to town and pretty much emptied the studio.

This incident led to Louis Vuitton officially parting ways with Jennifer Lopez less than a year after their collaboration was announced.

The brand, which had signed her for their autumn and winter advertising campaign in a deal worth $2.5 million (£2 million), decided not to renew their association.

This wasn’t a surprise considering Jennifer Lopez’s actions, on top of Lopez’s controversial FIAT sponsorship deal.

Jennifer Lopez Eventually Acknowledged Controversies Regarding Her Brand Sponsorships

Jennifer Lopez previously reflected on a past era, particularly the late ’90s and early 2000s, when it was unconventional for artists to take on roles as brand ambassadors.

Following her success in the 1997 biopic Selena, Lopez broke with conventions and entered the world of advertising campaigns, featuring in commercials such as L’Oréal’s haircare ad and becoming the face of Louis Vuitton.

While speaking with Adweek[via The Things], Lopez recollected the controversy surrounding these decisions at the time. She emphasized the importance of diversity in advertising, especially as a Latina girl making strides.
“… I felt that it was important to start seeing somebody who looked like me in those ads because it had been the same look for so long.

And to see a Latina there, a young Latin girl, at the time for me, was very, very important. I took that chance and knew that it would be something that could make a difference.”
Jennifer Lopez has continued to evolve in her brand partnerships, currently serving as a brand ambassador for Coach and actively promoting her skincare line, JLo Beauty. She is the object of desire for many brands, but Lopez remains choosy – something that has served her well so far.
