Kanye West’s controversial personality is being clarified by Netflix through the documentary Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy.
Netflix ‘s documentary series Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy is currently attracting public opinion because of the main character Kanye West – Hollywood’s most infamous male musician and rapper, who recently changed his name to Ye . Throughout part 1 of the series, audiences can look back at Kanye West’s 20-year career journey. Through that, we get a glimpse of his true self in the past, important decisions, and long struggles related to psychological issues.
Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy opens with the ups and downs of Kanye West’s career, including the legendary Taylor Swift microphone snatching in 2009.
Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy consists of 3 parts, is 277 minutes long and was made over 20 years. The person directly filming was Clarence “Coodie” Simmons, one of Kanye West’s closest friends, who has been with the male rapper since his first days in showbiz.
In the film, Kanye West in the early 2000s appears extremely different from the present time. On the journey to transition from the role of music producer to freelance rapper, ex-husband Kim Kardashian had to go through countless difficulties. Although initially not very successful, thanks to his confidence and musical talent, his name was recognized in the international music industry, gradually conquering many major charts.

And of course, behind Kanye West’s impressive success is his late mother Donda West. From realistic footage, it can be seen that the relationship between Kanye and his mother is extremely close, true to the standard “when we are apart, we miss each other, when we meet, we laugh” because Mrs. Donda herself always takes great care of her son.
A good relationship with his mother is what inspired Kanye West, bringing about a flourishing music career
According to narrator Coodie Simmons, the first time he noticed Kanye’s mental health was deteriorating was when Mrs. Donda received bad news. Immediately after his mother’s death in 2007, the American Boy singer suffered from depression and continuously appeared unapproachable.
“I could see Kanye was grieving, but he kept working. He refused to stop,” Coodie Simmons said, “[Four months later] he doesn’t seem like the Kanye he used to be. We don’t even talk.”
The death of his mother caused Kanye West to lose an important source of emotional support, because Mrs. Donda was always proud and gave great advice to her son.
Also in the documentary, Kanye West once admitted to rapper Kid Cudi about suicidal thoughts: “Even when I have a house, a wife, children and important pieces… I will still have moments where I feeling, so suicidal, there will still be moments where I’m addicted to Percocets (painkillers) and don’t even realize it – you know what I’m talking about?”
In 2016, Kanye West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. His mental health has truly become a controversial topic, discussed a lot by the public as he continuously canceled shows and had confusing actions and statements on Twitter and Instagram.
Especially after his divorce from Kim Kardashian, Kanye West has rarely been more stable. Some recent posts on his personal page continue to shock as they appear innocent and contain the content “missing his wife”, making fans worried.
After breaking up with Kim Kardashian, is Kanye West losing another important source of emotional support?
Upcoming parts 2 and 3 of Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy will continue to reveal many secrets in Kanye West’s personal life, including his love for Kim Kardashian and prolonged dramas in showbiz. The reason why Kanye West is running for President in 2020 will also be explained further.
Part 1 of Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy is now streaming on Netflix. The remaining parts are expected to be released on February 23 and March 2, respectively.
