Kim Kardashian denies owning an ancient Roman statue after Italy asked her to return it on suspicion of buying ‘stolen’ items.

In response to the Italian government asking Kim Kardashian to return a stolen sculpture that she currently owns, the American female star officially denied it.

On May 4, American media reported that the Italian government sent a petition to the Los Angeles court to denounce TV star Kim Kardashian when she was said to be in possession of an illegally imported Roman statue. And this statue was stolen from Italy. Accordingly, Kim Kardashian spent money to buy the statue from famous Belgian antiquities dealer Axel Vervoordt.

Italy asked Kim Kardashian to return a stolen sculpture in her possession.

Italy said the statue was part of a 5-ton shipment, with a total value of 750,000 USD (about 17 billion VND) sent to the Noel Roberts foundation founded by the female star. In 2016, the US Customs and Border Protection Unit in Woodland Hills temporarily detained this shipment on suspicion of violating some cultural heritage laws.

In response to the incident, Kim Kardashian’s spokesperson said the female star had never purchased this product and that this was the first time she knew about its existence. “We believe it may have been purchased in her name without legal authorization. She was also unaware of this transaction. We look forward to an investigation and hope that this item will be be returned to the rightful owner”.

According to CNN, court documents identify one of the delivery men as interior designer Axel Vervoordt, who has dealt with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West when designing furniture for their homes.
