Leo started buying his first house in 1999 for $2.5 million. In 2003, he bought a villa next door with 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. 15 years later, the actor spent more than 4.8 million USD to get the third villa with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. In April 2022, the star bought a $10.5 million house from neighbors Ron and Joan Linclau.

Mr. Ron sued Leo in 2007, accusing the actor of building a basketball court that damaged the structure of his house. In response to the lawsuit, Leo argued that the problem stemmed from an illegal retaining wall that Mr. Ron had built. The lawsuit was later settled out of court and they continued to be neighbors. Last year, Ms. Joan passed away and Mr. Ron decided to part with the house and sell it to Leo.
