A victim involved in Nicki’s husband’s sexual abuse nearly 30 years ago suddenly filed a lawsuit.

According to the New York Times , Jennifer Hough, 43, filed a lawsuit in court and accused Nicki Minaj’s family of threatening her for many months. Initially, the singer wanted to use $20,000 (more than 456 million VND) to bribe her to change her testimony in court, publicly admitting that she was wrong in the rape lawsuit against Kenneth Petty. When refused, Minaj’s side continuously called and sent people to bother Hough’s family.
Details of the complaint filed with the Court allege that Minaj “directly and indirectly threatened, harassed, and intimidated Jennifer Hough to withdraw her lawful claim that defendant Petty raped her.”
It is known that Petty served 4 and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted sexual intercourse when Hough was 16 years old. Yet, nearly 17 years later, Petty and Minaj were accused of trying to force Hough to withdraw the rape accusation. Perhaps the reason is that the two did not want Petty to be arrested for not registering as a sex offender when he moved to California.
Kenneth Petty and Jennifer Hough were classmates in Jamaica, Queens, New York. In 1994, he threatened her with a knife, took her home and had sex when they were both 16 years old. After being sued, Petty confessed his actions. The judge charged him with first-degree rape and sent him to prison for about four years.
In 2020, Petty was arrested in California for failing to declare criminal records related to a past incident to local authorities. Hough said Nicki Minaj called her asking for help. The singer repeatedly offered to pay her to deny that she had ever been raped.
Hough’s lawyer said his client suffered from depression and always lived in fear after being harassed. “I have not been able to work since May 2020 because of paranoia and severe depression. I have been harassed and threatened by the defendant’s relatives. I fear retaliation” – Hough wrote in the lawsuit . The victim also asked the rapper and his wife to compensate for the financial and mental health losses they caused her over the past year and begged: “Please leave me and my family in peace. “
Currently, Nicki Minaj’s family refuses to comment on the lawsuit. Regarding Nicki Minaj and her husband, the two have been close friends since childhood and started dating at the end of 2018. The couple got married in October 2019 and gave birth to their first child a year later.
