Taylor Swift has surpassed a record set by Elvis Presley. The ‘Lover‘ singer has surpassed the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll himself as she clinched a new record by spending 68 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Taylor achieved this milestone with the release of her latest album, ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’, This made her the soloist with the most weeks atop the Billboard 200. Before Taylor, Elvis Presley held the record with 67 weeks at No. 1 across his 10 albums spanning from 1956 to 2002.

Swift began climbing to the top with the ‘Fearless‘ album, which cemented its place at No. 1 between 2008 and 2009 for 11 weeks. The streak continued as her other albums like ‘Speak Now’, ‘Red’, ‘1989′, ‘Reputation’, ‘Lover’, ‘Folklore’, ‘Evermore’, and ‘Midnights’ procured her an additional 47 weeks at the summit.

The reimagined versions of Swift’s albums, including ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’, ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’, ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’, and ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’, then contributed 10 more No. 1 rankings on the Billboard 200.

Though Taylor has now managed to surpass Elvis, The Beatles would be her next target. The iconic band holds the record of holding No. 1 across their 19 albums between 1964 and 2001 for 132 weeks. She also recently tied with Drake for the most Billboard Music Awards. She managed to bag 10 BBMAs during the November 19 ceremony.

In a prerecorded speech during her Eras Tour, she thanked her fans for their support. She said that all her success and accolades were possible because of their constant support. Swift’s Eras Tour has managed to get a huge footfall for 35 shows. The tour kicked off in Arizona in March and concluded in Los Angeles in August.

The tour extended to Mexico City, though Taylor is currently on a break and will resume her tour in February. The last she performed was in Argentina and Brazil in November.

After the successful tour, she also released the ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour‘ film. The movie too was an instant hit with a ticket sale of $92.8 million in the U.S., making it the fifth-largest opening for any theatrical release in 2023.
