She spoke to The Daily Mail in 2017, saying, “Angelina has been more of a mother to her than I have ever been.

She has been with her since she was a baby, but that does not mean I do not miss her.” She also said that she wishes to reunite with her daughter and be in contact with her regularly, a request which Jolie has yet to address publicly.

In 2007, the truth about Zahara’s conception came out. Mentewab, in an interview with Reuters, revealed that Zahara was, unfortunately, a product of rape.

The young woman was violently attacked by a man who quickly disappeared after the act. She gave birth while she was in critical condition, and the child (named Yemsrach) was given up for adoption by Mentewab’s mother.
