Zahara is the talk of the town as Jolie reveals her personality traits when she meets friends at school

During a Vogue interview in September 2023, Angelina Jolie, 48, discussed her daughter, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, 18.

The actress revealed how her daughter, whom she adopted in 2005 at seven months old, struggled with finding clothing that suited her dark skin tone.

Angelina shared how the Ethiopian-born teenager’s issue was considered when the star launched her Atelier Jolie fashion brand.

Zahara suggested that her mother add different shades to the collection, which the actress admired.

For instance, a range that includes a silk slip dress is designed in various nude shades due to her daughter’s input.

The mother of six confessed that she hadn’t been aware of Zahara’s fashion struggles until they started going shopping together.

She admitted how it never crossed her mind until she saw how much space there was for improvement. Facebook users who saw a Daily Mail article about the actress’s cluelessness over her daughter’s struggles had much to say.

One person rolled their eyes, noting how what Zahara went through wasn’t worthy of being called a “heartbreaking struggle,” while someone else defined it as:

Another reader mocked the mother-daughter pair, saying they hoped Angelina’s stylist would step in to “help save Zahara” from her “heartbreaking plight before it’s too late!” Despite the negative responses, Angelina showed in the past that she is interested in learning from her daughter.

In July 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement, Angelina discussed Africa while speaking to the TIME 100 Talks series. The star noted how interesting education is.

She admitted not knowing how things worked in Ugandan schools but that education is shrouded in the United States with many questions. Talking about Zahara, the celebrity shared where the child is from before confessing having learned a lot from her.

Angelina proudly called the teenager her “family” before adding she is “an extraordinary African woman.” In her Vogue interview, she also shared how proud she was of her daughter, describing Zahara as decisive, grounded, and thoughtful.

Besides Zahara, Angelina shares five more children with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. Their oldest child, Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt,22, lived for seven months in an orphanage before being adopted from Battambang, Cambodia.

At seven months old, Zahara was adopted from Hawassa, Ethiopia, after Angelina visited her orphanage with Maddox. Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, 17, was born biologically on May 27, 2006, at Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund, Namibia.

Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, 19, was born in 2003 in Vietnam, where he spent his first few years in an orphanage outside of Ho Chi Minh City. The actress adopted him in 2007.

The last additions to the Jolie-Pitt family are fraternal twins. Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, 15, were born biologically to Angelina and Brad on July 12, 2008, in Nice, France.
