This comes after the actress – whose new film Second Act comes out in December – flashed a diamond ring on Thursday leading fans to believe she is engaged to Alex Rodriguez. However, sources tell DailyMail.com that the two are not set to wed.

The caption innocuously read ‘Jennifer, what’s the sign?!’ and saw the pop star attempting to mimic the signs given by baseball coaches to their players on the field.

Of course the ring is what caught the eye of fans.

Though the ring is not technically on the correct hand to indicate an engagement, that didn’t stop fans from speculating on the significance of the sizable piece of bling.

The rumor apparently began thanks to an apparent friend of the couple named Kimberly, who commented ‘the sign I see is engagement’ in response to the playful post.

While Alex didn’t respond to the comment directly, he did say ‘Hi Kimberley!! Miss you guys’ indicating that he did in fact know the commenter.
