Jennifer Lopez ‘Pissed’ With Ben Affleck After Disastrous Interview About Jennifer Garner

We know that divorce doesn’t happen between a couple who are happy and in love. If that were the case, the marriage wouldn’t have ended. Still, even through the struggles, it’s generally frowned upon to air that dirty laundry. That is precisely why actor Ben Affleck got heat after he spoke about his marriage with now-ex wife Jennifer Garner on a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show.

He said he felt “trapped,” and now his current girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, is “pissed.”

During Ben’s interview with Howard Stern, he opened up about his marriage to now-ex Jennifer Garner and the three kids they share. According to Ben, marriage troubles began after his children were born.

“I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy. What do I do?’ And what I did was I drank a bottle of scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution,” he said in the interview.

He also seemingly blamed Jennifer Garner for his struggles with alcohol.

Ben and Jennifer were married from 2005 to 2018, and in that time, they had three kids together. Ben shared in the interview that his marriage and the issues he and Jennifer Garner were having led him to drink.

“We probably would’ve ended up at each other’s throats,” he explained. “I probably still would’ve been drinking. Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped.”

His comments in that interview lit up the internet. People were angry.

Jennifer Garner has largely stayed quiet about her marriage and divorce to Ben. She was praised for putting her relationship with him on the priority list, even after their breakup, because they have kids together. Ben had checked into rehab a few times before their marriage, starting in 2001.

However, when Ben struggled more after the end of his divorce, Jennifer Garner supported him through it. Even though they were no longer married, she was photographed driving him to rehab and kept their struggles private.

When the interview went live, the backlash against Ben was swift.

Social media didn’t shy away from calling out Ben and the comments he made on The Howard Stern Show. The reaction was swift, and it was hard. Fans and critics reminded Ben and the public that Jennifer supported him through his recovery, even years after they had separated.

People were also upset that his comments seemingly blamed his ex-wife for his issues and that his kids were old enough to read some of the things being said.

Jennifer Garner hasn’t said anything – but sources claim that Ben’s current girlfriend, J.Lo, isn’t happy either.

A source claimed to Page Six, “[Jennifer] is pissed. She is getting pulled into this because she is dating him. She doesn’t want to be dragged into this.”

The same person added, “She has met Jennifer Garner. She is trying to get to know her and Ben’s kids. It’s reckless and cavalier of him.”

J.Lo hasn’t officially released a comment, and chances are that she’s not going to. Another source told Page Six that the talk about her being upset isn’t necessarily the case. “This is simply not true, and the focus is on the children,” the source reportedly explained.

Whether J.Lo or Jennifer Garner said something to Ben or not, he recently walked back his statements.

Ben was recently a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and addressed the criticism. “I would never want my kids to think I would ever say a bad word about their mom,” he said.

“I had gone on and said how much we respect each other and cared about each other and cared about our kids and put them first,” Ben continued.

It’s probably best that Ben tread carefully when it comes to talking about his kids, his relationship with Jennifer Garner, and his romance with J.Lo.
