This week, Lady GaGa has undammed a flood of news, from leading a forthcoming A Star Is Born remake to teasing her next single on Instagram.

So on Wednesday, the 30-year-old appeared to want to blow off a bit of steam.

She was spotted leaving the Z100 Radio Station in New York City, wearing a sheer black top over no bra and lighting up a smoke at the wheel of her car.

The fitted T-shirt was tucked in, causing it to stretch to an even greater degree of translucence over her generous bust. Her tousled platinum blonde hair fell freely around cat eye Le Specs sunglasses that matched her black leather boots.

Framed with white polka dots, a black bandanna was tied about her left foot, matching the belt with which she cinched a pair of fitted grey jeans.

Jewelry-wise, the Manhattanite strolled through her hometown in gold hoop earrings and a small cross.

Once she settled into the driver’s seat of her car, the woman born Stefani Germanotta dragged at a brown cigarette.

That morning, the Bad Romance singer elated her fans by announcing the first single of her untitled forthcoming album. 

In quick succession, she uploaded twelve Instagram pictures, which when viewed in rows of three on her Instagram homepage read: ‘LADY GAGA PERFECT ILLUSION NEW SINGLE SEPTEMBER PERFECT ILLUSION.’

Pitchfork have reported that the single’s producers are Brit Award winning musician Mark Ronson and Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker.

Upon its release, the album will be her fifth studio LP, prompting her and her acolytes to give it the sobriquet LG5. Near the end of last year, she uploaded an Instagram photo of herself in studio with her longtime producer RedOne.

They appear to have been percolating the project since at least last February, when the Tétouan native told Emirati newspaper The National: ‘With Gaga, I’m fully committed until we’re done – we’re just going to work on writing songs – 20, 30, 40 songs – until we get hopefully the best album of the decade.’

This January, Entertainment Tonight reported that the ARTPOP impresaria said: I am putting out an album this year. I won’t tell you when, but it is coming out this year.’

On Tuesday, the American Horror Story Golden Globe winner wrangled herself a new acting gig when Warner Bros green-lit Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut. 

The pop diva’s slated to join the ranks of Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand by playing the titular role in A Star Is Born. 

On top of directing the third remake of the 1937 drama, the Silver Linings Playbook Oscar nominee will assume the old Fredric March role of the ageing performer who falls in love with the rising ingénue, then spirals into addiction and misery as she overtakes him in show business.

The last two versions of A Star Is Born were musicals, the 1976 Streisand version winning an Academy Award For Best Original Song and a Grammy For Song Of The Year. 

Inasmuch as the new version stars a woman with six Grammys and three Brit Awards, the tradition will, of course, continue. According to Deadline, the Donatella singer will write her original songs herself.

She expressed her glee at the green-light on Twitter the day of the announcement, writing, ‘Im elated to be directed by & starring w/ Bradley in this project. He’s a brilliant visionary artist. #AStarIsBorn #AStarIsBornCooperGaga.’

As though her music and film releases were insufficient, she has an authoring credit coming up as well, courtesy of her father. 

On 22nd November, the Germanotta patriarch, who owns a restaurant near Lincoln Center called Joanne Trattoria, is releasing a cookbook. His daughter will write the foreword to the Joanne Trattoria Cookbook: Classic Recipes And Scenes From An Italian American Restaurant.
