Film star Nicolas Cage is to marry a waitress half his age after meeting her just two months ago, it was reported yesterday.
The 40-year-old actor proposed to Alice Kim, 19, with a giant diamond and emerald ring.
He was said to be smitten after meeting her on Valentine’s Day while out with friends in a Los Angeles sushi bar where she worked.
During the meal he plucked up the courage to ask her on a date. To her surprise, he invited her to the Oscars the following month.
The whirlwind romance echoes the story of the film It Could Happen To You, in which he played a lottery winner who falls for a waitress. ‘Nic has really fallen for this girl,’ said a Hollywood source.
