When Joel Schumacher‘s Batman and Robin was released in 1997, there was a general unanimous consensus that perhaps in the history of superhero movies, there is no movie that could top this one when it comes to the worst-ranked movie ever. And this belief continues to be reaffirmed year after year as cinema furthers its path into the superhero mythos.

Starring George Clooney as Batman and Chris O’Donnell as his faithful sidekick, Robin, DC originally wanted to cast Mark Wahlberg as Robin in the franchise way before they considered him for Green Lantern. In an old interview with Yahoo! Movies, the actor revealed that he was in talks to star as Robin in Batman Forever which eventually led to the worst movie to date, Batman and Robin.

“Once I was kind of being talked about for the Robin role in ‘Batman [Forever]’. Somebody dodged a bullet!”

But could he ever rock the superhero suit?

“I ain’t wearing no tights man.”

Fortunately for him, he did really dodge a bullet that might have had catastrophic impacts on his outstanding career.

Mark Wahlberg could have been Green Lantern
Ever since the DC extended universe was being planned by the likes of Zack Snyder, there were talks of introducing Green Lantern as well along with Batman, Flash, Aquaman, and the rest. Even fans were eager to have the superhero return after Ryan Reynolds‘ previous miserable feat.

While Green Lantern never got the chance to make an appearance in Snyderverse, it was recently reported that one of DC’s producers Charles Roven wanted Mark Wahlberg to play the popular comic book hero (via ScreenRant).

While nothing really came about, it is possible that Wahlberg might have finally gotten a chance to put on some spandex and show off his superhero skills had Zack Snyder remained at the helm of the DC superhero universe.
