Julia Roberts Ventures into Thriller Territory with Luca Guadagnino’s ‘After the Hunt’

Julia Roberts is set to star in director Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming thriller, After the Hunt, which is set up at Amazon MGM Studios.

Roberts plays a college professor who “finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues. As she navigates the difficult situation, a dark secret from her own past threatens to come to light.”

Guadagnino (Suspiria, Call Me By Your Name, Bones and All) will direct the film from a script written by first-time screenwriter Nora Garrett. The movie will be executive produced by Brian Grazer, Karen Lunder, and Allan Mandelbaum.

The filmmaker recently directed by the tennis love-triangle drama Challengers, and will next work on Separate Rooms, “a wistful drama about an Italian writer who mourns the loss of his boyfriend.”

This sounds like it will be an interesting project for Roberts.
