Nicolas Cage recently shared that he would be open to returning as Ghost Rider in a future Marvel movie.

Speaking with Uproxx to promote his new movie Dream Scenario, Cage stated that he plans on acting in fewer movies and becoming more stringent with the roles he chooses. However, the actor revealed that he would have a tough time saying no to something that he “thought had some pop to it, some spark to it, that maybe could be fun for folks to revisit, like a Face/Off 2 or Ghost Rider,” explaining how that would be “another conversation.

” Cage previously played the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider in two Sony-released Marvel movies — Ghost Rider (2007) and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012).

Cage’s Ghost Rider comments come amid a desire to step back from acting to be able to spend more time with his family, which includes a newborn daughter with wife Riko Shibata. He told Uproxx that “after 45 years of doing this; that in over 100 movies – I feel I’ve pretty much said what I’ve had to say with cinema.

” The actor, who has appeared in fan-favorite movies like Fast Times at Ridgemont HighMoonstruckLeaving Las VegasNational Treasure and Kick-Ass, has instead indicated that he would like to retire from acting to movies and star in a television series like Breaking Bad that would allow him to do some really deep character exploration.

“I am very interested in immersion streaming with episodic television. I have seen things that can be done now with characters and the time they’re given to express themselves,” Cage explained. “I saw Bryan Cranston stare at a suitcase for an hour on one episode of Breaking Bad. We don’t have time to do that in a feature film, so maybe television is the next best step for me. We’ll see.”
