Previously, when starting to make the film, director Mike Figgis was promised a salary of 100,000 USD: “But then the film production company said that the film did not make a profit so it could not pay the remuneration for director and male lead. We did not receive a penny of compensation after participating in making that movie.”
However, both director Mike Figgis and actor Nicolas Cage did not want to make a big deal out of it: “After that movie, my directorial career took off.
