Ballymena-born actor Liam Neeson’s recent weight loss shocked fans when he stepped out earlier this summer – but the actor insists it was all for a movie role.

The 63-year-old actor looked slimmer and gaunt – with his clothes hanging off his 6ft 4ins frame – when he went for a stroll just four months ago, causing fans to worry that something may be wrong with his health.

The Hollywood star revealed he lost the weight for his part in the new Martin Scorsese film Silence.

He was at a movie bash at the Los Cabos Film Festival in Mexico over the weekend, looking noticeably more healthy, to promote his new flick.
