Millionaire movie star Liam Neeson is hoping his fancy New York apartment gets Taken soon.

The Ballymena-born actor has just put the luxury pad — situated on Manhattan’s ritzy Upper West Side — up for sale for $13million.

He is said to be planning to spend much more time at his sprawling farmhouse mansion in Dutchess County, New York. Beloved late wife Natasha is buried near the property.

For now, all his attention is on selling the 4,500 sq ft high-rise Manhattan condominium apartment, based at the Park Millennium, at 111 W 67th St, near the Lincoln Center.

The property on the 28th floor of the 47-storey tower boasts amazing views and offers five bedrooms, five bathrooms and a primary suite that has a walk-in closet and a small library.

Liam and Natasha purchased the home from the building’s developer in 1999 for $3.9m, according to the city register. Richardson died in 2009 after suffering a severe head injury in a skiing accident.

Property experts say that if Neeson gets his price at the Park Millennium, the sale might set a record at the tower, one of three that is part of the Lincoln Square mixed-use complex, a full-block site at Broadway developed in the mid-1990s with an IMAX movie theatre.

Five years ago, No 25DH — also a five-bedroom — sold for $11m after being listed at $14m, records show. But another five-bedroom, No 35DEF, has been on and off the market since 2019 without finding a taker, with the price dropping from $25m to $14.8m over that span.

Neeson has hired two agents to try to sell his place, Corcoran broker Deborah Grubman and Level Group broker Amy Himes.

Two years ago, the Schindler’s List star allowed cameras into his 37-acre Dutchess County retreat for a YouTube documentary.

The home, built 200 years ago, boasts an outdoor pool, a pool house, an international-sized tennis court, and a state-of-the-art movie theatre hidden inside an antique barn. Neeson’s movie room is adorned with pictures of his favourite films and some which Natasha starred in. The couple would regularly spend time in the room watching movies together.

Property expert Chris Montrose said: “Neeson is incredibly wealthy and, frankly, he has more money than he knows what to do with.

“Luckily, he gives a lot of his money away to deserving charities like One Campaign and Unicef. He once raised £20,000 for breast cancer research and he even auctioned off one of his Star Wars lightsabers.”

Neeson earned approximately $40m thanks to the Taken franchise, and the Active Wealth site reveals how he likes to spend his money — living the high life in sunny St Tropez (a location he would often visit with late wife Natasha).

He has been spotted there in more recent years with Natasha’s actress sister Joely and mother Vanessa Redgrave.

Neeson’s films have so far grossed more than $6billion at the box office.
