The Taken actor looks very different from his action movie image from the big screen

Liam Neeson continues to look very different as he steps out amid concern from fan.

The Taken star has been spotted in New York several times over the last couple of months, each time looking somewhat frail.

The 63-year-old actor – who was almost unrecognisable when he was seen recently wearing a bandanna and shades – has been spotted looking thinner than usual and showing gaunt features.

But could this new look be for a film role? His rep recently told Mirror Celebs that the Taken star, who lost his wife Natasha Richardson in a skiing accident in 2009, “has never been healthier”.

However, a day later Liam looked just as frail as he was seen running errands.

Underneath a green baseball cap, the actor’s wispy hair could just be seen while days worth of stubble was on clear view.

Despite the soaring temperatures the star was dressed in a blue hooded sweater.

It’s unclear if the transformed appearance is for a new film, but he recently finished filming a Scorsese film and will commence another this month.

It no doubt came as a shock to fans, after Liam was spotted just weeks before looking happy and healthy at The Ronald McDonald House in New York.

Greeting his younger fans, he was all smiles and showed off a fuller figure and shorter hair for the visit.

However when asked about Liam’s recent appearance, his rep previously told us: “He’s never been healthier.”

It comes after the star revealed he is retiring his well known (and loved) “particular set of skills”, as he’s giving up action movies in two years time.
