The Star Wars franchise has captivated generations of viewers. With its iconic characters and rich lore, the franchise has left a lasting impact on not only the industry but fans around the globe.

The franchise has evolved dynamically. Fans are always eager to see familiar faces return. One such face is of the esteemed actor, Liam Neeson.

Liam Neeson’s Star Wars character has always been one of the more fascinating heroes of the franchise. Qui-Gon Jinn is considered one of the best heroes of the Star Wars saga. And with good reasons. He has been a character fans could never get enough of. And his return has been expected in one way or another.

But in an interview with Screen Rant, the actor crushed all hopes of this sort. Recalling his memories of the days gone by, Neeson said:

“I enjoyed very much being with Ewan and George Lucas on The Phantom Menace. We shot that 26 years ago!”

However, when asked if he plans to return to play Qui-Gon Jinn, Neeson reflected:

“Would I do it again? I don’t think so. Too ******* old, ya know? I can’t see the situation, I really can’t, you know?”

Neeson seems sure that it is almost impossible for him to portray Qui-Gon Jinn again. However, that’s what we know about his plans regarding live-action. That doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s have to bid the character adieu just yet.

Liam Neeson Might Still Be Able To Play Qui-Gon Jinn

In his conversation with the news outlet, Neeson was asked if he plans to return to play in either live-action or animated form of Star Wars. Despite his Obi-Wan Kenobi cameo, he completely denied any possibility of a live-action return.

Furthermore, the Schindler’s List star refrained from commenting on Qui-Gon Jinn’s animation prospects. He voiced the Jedi master in the animated show Tales of the Jedi season 1. And since season two has been confirmed to be released this year, it is highly probable that Neeson will voice the character again.

Voice acting is largely less demanding than doing all the scenes physically. As the actor pointed out, being “too old” for playing the role in live-action. It will be easier for him to do so as a voice actor. After all, this is the closest fans will get to Liam Neeson playing Qui-Gon Jinn again.
