The 64-year-old actor will take the lead role in upcoming biopic, The Silent Man, which tells the true story of FBI agent, Mark Felt, who became an anonymous source during the investigation of the Watergate scandal.
The Silent Man will see Liam star opposite Diane Lane (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Perfect Storm) and British actor Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes, War Horse).
The movie is scheduled to be released in September 2017.

The seasoned actor recently opened up about how filming the Love Actually sequel brought back memories of his late wife.
Liam told Entertainment Weekly: “Some of us have died. Oh, my dear old friend [co-star Alan Rickman] God rest him. Some have gotten divorced. I’ve lost my wife.”
